Our Beliefs and Purpose
We are an Independent Baptist church that loves the Lord and believes in the Great Commission as stated in Mathew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of what we believe and the Great Commission is the focus of everything we do. Our worship is traditional in style with hymns and specials alike and we do use the King James Version of the bible as we endeavor to fulfill our purpose of sharing the gospel with our beautiful community here in Livingston MT and to spread the gospel throughout the world. Our threefold mission here at Mountain Springs Baptist church is:
Love – the first step to a closer relationship with Jesus Christ and a fulfilled peace in our lives is explained in Mark 12:30 – And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. Our desire is that you would gain a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and, over time, gain such a strength from that love that you would spread that love into the next verse Mark 12:31 – And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
That our love for Jesus Christ and our love for those around us would shine through in everything we do.
Learn – The Apostle Paul exhorts the brethren in Colossians 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; it is our hope and our intention that our people will grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ through weekly bible studies, couples studies, Sunday Schools, Sunday morning and evening messages, and youth activities so that we may be able to…
Live – Continuing the scripture that the Apostle Paul states in Colossians 1:9 above and following into verse 10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; that our people would, through the activities of the church coupled with their personal and family study, not only grow closer to the Lord but exemplify (bring forth fruit) Jesus Christ in and through their lives; in and through the lives of their families; and into the community in which we live. Jesus Christ Himself exhorts us in Mathew 13:23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
It is our hope that our people will live a life that shines for Jesus Christ and that our church would shine as a beacon for Jesus Christ in our community, in our country, and throughout the world.
